Ercu（满）

Ercu老师对我的帮助远胜于辅导一个作品集那么简单! 他发自内心的中肯评价和建议给了迷茫时期的我极大的帮助和支持！ 他对于设计和科技的理解独到而又充满启发；对于多专业多地区高校的申请都了然于胸： 更重要是对于学生总是能挖掘出我们身上自己都不易发觉的优点和长处，给予肯定并帮助发展成为申请中最独特的优势！

The OP 196 provides me a total new and fun experience related to urban design and push me to think about built environment in a larger scale. The topic itself is related to my personal interests about community reservation or renovation using data-based strategies, and gives me a chance to think about what the future street looks like after twenty or fifty years. Cohorts from all different culture and education backgrounds inspired me. We discussed and gave critique to each other after class several times. Ercu are extremely helpful on giving me comments about and helping me build the workflow. The reviewers he invited include professionals from all different industries: UIUX, Design and Auto vehicle. They helped me to build the thinking from all three areas!

The greatest strength of OP196 is the comprehensive and thorough guidance from Ercu, who has extensive and profound knowledge and experience in both teaching, design, and technology. Ercu pinpointed exactly what to think, what to focus on, what problems there are, and what needs to be developed. He gave references and relevant examples and guided everyone to think beyond their knowledge.

It gives me great pleasure to participate in the AI OP 237 course that I have been interested in. Since last year, I have shocked by the ability of AI to see works of art and designs made using AI technology in many exhibitions. This is a new way of creation, like finding what I want in a large database and combining it to form a new one. When I wrote to AI, I met many difficulties such as language barriers, lack of details, lack of knowledge and so on. I keep asking myself what I want, and then I see what AI gives me, and the process goes on and on. With the help of Ercu and Roxy, I am glad to find what I want to do. Thank you very much for the guidance and help of Ercu and Roxy!

AI & Architecture is a way to elaborate design ideas, investigating the dynamics between the use of language and knowledge of artistic and technical “repertoire” in design. OP 237 allowed me to experiment with new technology, as it is a tool to sketch photorealistically. This open project allowed me to step in the architectural field for the first time as my major is more into the art and design area. Starting with exploration on cubes and garments allowed us to focus on our own interest, and to understand how AI works. Even though AI cannot replace traditional architecture education and design, it allows me to communicate my initial views and ideas on the built environment. Overall, I really enjoyed my final outcome and I will still be using AI for some quick designs in the future. In my opinion, I liked how the OP went and ended.

Through OP237 course , we learn new expressions. We can use very little time to show the picture we need. I’ve learned that AI can be a tool for us, and we need to understand it and control it. Excellent teacher, every class will have a serious research in advance and each class give us Chinese and English evaluation. Thanks to the two teachers who taught me how to control AI and discussed the thinking logic of AI. At the same time, when I could not find the direction, they comforted me and encouraged me, and helped me find the knowledge that I lack. Very good course, and new tools, giving students new knowledge and understanding of the future world.

The Scripting Architecture OP 257 was a fascinating introduction into the possibilities offered by AI in architectural design processes. We were given ample opportunities to explore how to integrate the use of AI in MJ and Stable Diffusion within a short span of 6 weeks, without being confined within the usual constraints of architectural projects.I am feeling overall very fruitful about the OP in picking up such a relevant and novel skillset that could not only benefit me in my portfolio curation but also gives me an extra edge in the job market as well. Furthermore, this has strengthened my interest in pursuing my curiosities of technological design in general.

The OP257 was an inspiring course for me to dig into super new territory of design. I was excited to try new method and explore new way of generating AI based design in my own way! I want to thank Ercu for patient tutoring. He was always there for us to solve problems we encountered and always gave inspiring suggestions! I really appreciate it to have chance to work with him.
